Biosketch:

I am adjunct professor in Clinical Psychology and Health Psychology at the School of Human Health Sciences of the University of Florence; founder and director of the Center for Psychology and Health at the Tages Charity, Florence; psychotherapist at the central Tuscany district of the Italian National Healthcare Service. I am a chartered psychologist and psychotherapist (Tuscany Register of Psychologists); accredited CBT therapist (European Association of Behavioral and Cognitive Therapy); community college teacher affiliate of the American Psychological Association; trainer and visiting professor at Italian and international schools in Clinical Mindfulness. My primary scientific interests and therapeutic approaches refer to the so-called Third Wave of CBT: Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy; Compassion-Focused Therapy; Acceptance and Commitment Therapy; Metacognitive Reflection and Insight Therapy; Metacognitive Interpersonal Therapy. I am currently involved in four main researches: (i) an open trial about a specifically developed mindfulness-based intervention for cancer patients and professionals; (ii) a case series study about a metacognitively oriented treatment for cluster A personality disorder patients; (iii) a pilot study about a mindfulness-based and compassion-focused therapy for clinical perfectionism; (iv) a pilot study about a persolity-guided therapy for gifted students.
