Biosketch:

I am adjunct professor in Health Psychology at the School of Human Health Sciences of the University of Florence and at the St. John’s University in Rome; founder and director of the Center for Psychology and Health at the Tages Charity, Florence; psychotherapist at the central Tuscany district of the Italian National Healthcare Service. I am a chartered psychologist and psychotherapist (Tuscany Register of Psychologists); accredited CBT therapist (European Association of Behavioral and Cognitive Therapy); full member of the American Psychological Association; trainer and visiting professor at Italian and international schools in Clinical Mindfulness. My primary scientific interests and therapeutic approaches refer to the so-called Third Wave of CBT: Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy; Compassion-Focused Therapy; Acceptance and Commitment Therapy; Metacognitive Reflection and Insight Therapy; Metacognitive Interpersonal Therapy. I am currently involved in four main researches based on specific protocol I personally outlined: (i) a randomized controlled trial about a mindfulness-based intervention for healthcare professionals (Mindful Compassion Care Program) at the University of Verona; (ii) a randomized controlled trial about an intervention for schizotypa personality disoders (Evolutionary Systems Therapy for Schizotypy) in collaboration with Indiana University and the Accademic College of Tel Aviv – Yaffo; (iii) an open trial about a mindfulness-based interventio for perfectionism (Mindful Compassion for Perfectionism) in collaboration with the British Columbia University; (iv) a pilot study about a persolity-guided therapy for gifted students.
